Tyrmand, jazz, hip-hop, human relationships and respect for the architects of the music scene. You will find all this in the music of Eskaubei & Tomek Nowak Quartet.
The only jazz rap band in the country that is regularly active in concerts and releases. It has been in existence since 2014. The band consists of leading musicians of the young and middle generation: Tomasz Nowak, Kuba Banaszek, Alan Wykpisz and Maksymilian Olszewski, as well as rapper, poet and lyricist - Bartłomiej Skubisz ‘Eskaubei’. They have performed with Aga Zaryan, Michał Urbaniak or Krzesimir Dębski, and in other configurations have collaborated with Nigel Kennedy, Randy Brecker, Steve Lehman, Vitold Rek or musicians from Amy Winehouse's band. They have played nearly 200 concerts and recorded 5 albums, including the vinyl ‘Tyrmand to Jazz’, which was released by Junoumi Records and debuted on the OLiS list of best-selling vinyl records in Poland. Their records featured, among others, Ten Typ Mes, Robert Cichy, Eldo, Jarecki, Afrojax. They have performed at prestigious festivals: Jazz nad Odrą, Era of Jazz, Hip Hop Kemp, RCK Pro Jazz, Good Vibe Festival, Young Arts Festival, Hanza Jazz Festival, Jazzonalia or Cracow Summer Jazz Festival.
The band was a double winner of the Jazz 2016 and Jazz 2017 plebiscite of JazzPress magazine and RadioJazz.FM two years in a row in the categories ‘Polish jazz band of the year’ and ‘Polish jazz album of the year’.
