Imagine arid landscapes bathed in light, where everything is calm… If Kham Meslien's compositions evoke wide open spaces, it's because the musician uses the narrative power of the double bass and the warmth of attractive melodies. Accompanied by a looper and effects, a charango and percussion instruments, he explores the sounds of his instruments, layering loops and improvisations, which evoke the first solo records of Henri Texier and pianist Nils Frahm. Let yourself be carried along by Kham’s music and you’ll come to realize the obvious: life is only a matter of time and vibration.
Bassist for the band Lo'Jo from 1997 to 2016, Kham Meslien has performed on all continents, in major cities like New York and unique locations like the Australian desert. He is also a member of Sweet Back, a French jazz trio, and has collaborated, on stage or in studio, with many international musicians such as Robert Plant, Archie Shepp, and Robert Wyatt. Today, Kham Meslien shares with us his adventure in introspection thanks to his new solo project.
